Wood for the future
Wood - a responsible and resource-efficient choice
Of all building materials, wood holds a unique position. Constructing buildings in wood is a resource-efficient choice, and unlike many other materials, wood contributes positively to the climate by storing carbon dioxide throughout its lifecycle.
We have long experience in building houses with wooden constructions, both detached houses as well as multi-storey buildings. We develop residential areas with wood as our primary material, and our expertise in timber construction allows us to deliver energy-efficient homes and long-lasting communities. Our focus is on sustainable construction – with environmental, social, and economic responsibility.
Our knowledge and experience are reflected in innovative development projects such as One Tonne Life and NEED4B. Collaborations with RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Volvo Cars, Vattenfall and others have strengthened our ability to offer homes with reduced climate impact and high energy performance.
Derome has also had the privilege of leading a national initiative to promote timber construction: CBBT – The Centre for Wood Construction and Housing. We continue to drive internal development in the wooden housing sector, both for single-family homes and multi-storey concepts.
